Yamagata-ken

In Yamagata prefecture, the majority of the land is a mountainous area, and the ratio to total area accounts for about 70%.
There is a chain of Zao Mountains, ski resort is famous.
The prefecture is known for special products, especially cherries, La France, Yonezawa beef. Tendo city is famous for Japanese chess pieces(Shogi Koma), producing over 90% of domestic demand.
